The film follows two filmmakers who are staying a few nights the home of their grandmother while she is out of town. They placed did a casting call on Facebook in hopes of finding actresses for their new film. They cast arrives and they spend the first night drinking and enjoying the hot tub until something happens. The women start acting weird and they quickly discover the ancient evil lurking in their home and it's connection to the female sex.
I was looking forward to this one. I was curious when I saw that Deodato was involved with the film and it centered around a pair of filmmakers. Sadly, the film was not firing on all cylinders resulting in a very boring experience. The acting in this one wasn't bad. The cast is very comfortable on screen and works well together but they struggle to find the right emotion for the scene or overreact. The cast is solid but they truly lacked direction. The story for this one could have been a fantastic horror film but it is poorly executed. The film moves at a slow pace which is excruciating to watch. The film does have an action packed last segment of the film but its not fun enough to make up for the painful burn we get for most of the film. Finally, the film does have some solid practical effects. The kills were rather boring but the effects looked fantastic. Why the film wasn't filled with that I couldn't tell you. Overall, Lilith's Hell is one of those films that looks great on paper but turned to shit once the camera was rolling. Skip this Unearthed release and check out something else.
