     I will always love horror but I still enjoy many other genres and their sub-genres.  After a horror binge I tend to check out some other flicks from other genres but they tend to fall under exploitation in one way or another.  After recently watching the bruceploitation flick Bruce's Deadly Fingers from VCI Entertainment I set my sights on the 1982 exploitation flick from Full Moon Entertainment.  They recently released Oasis of the Lost Girls that was original released under the title Police Destination Oasis which is a very misleading title.  I reached out to Full Moon and they were kind enough to send a review copy my way.  Thanks guys!

     The film follows two young women who follow two men back to their apartment to party when they are drugged.  They soon find themselves shipped to an island to be sex workers.  While they plan on their escape there is a spy working to infiltrate the organization and save all the female slaves.

     When I got news of Oasis of the Lost Girls from Full Moon I was ready for some sleaze.  People want to knock sleazy flicks but they are typically cheap entertainment with cheesy stories and often funny acting.  Sadly, Oasis of the Lost Girls is not one of those fun and sleazy exploitation films.  The acting in this one is solid for an early 80s exploitation flick.  The characters do not have the cheesy charm that you get from most of the 70s forced female labor or women in prison flicks.  They are extremely boring with very little redeeming qualities.  The story for this one is very predictable and seemingly takes everything entertaining from films like it and throws it out the window.  The sleaze and action is mostly removed and what we are given is a bastard form of the women in prison films that most exploitation films love.  The scenes drag on with little to no redeeming qualities about them.  Finally, this is not a bloody flick.  Hell, it's not even a sexy flick.  Overall, Oasis of the Lost Girls is a forgettable film that forget where it comes from.  This is one I would skip
