Rating (out of 5):

The basic purpose of a film is to tell a story with each film taking different approaches to the way they tell that story. Some films really struggle at telling a story but they at least try. However, Jezebeth is a fucking train wreck when it comes to telling a coherent story. The film tries to tell the story about a girl named Jezebeth that raises a demon named Jezebeth and it turns one of the Jezebeths into a vampire. With that being said, the story is lost somewhere along the way when we get 5 to 10 minute segments scattered throughout the film filled with generic hard rock and gothic imagery. The acting in this film is very amateurish and very over-dramatic by the entire cast. The film tries to be serious in tone but turns into an unintentional comedy when each scene becomes laughable by how the cast acts with each other. The story for this one has so much potential but wastes it by creating a feature length music video with horrible hard/gothic rock and dark images of women lurking around a cemetery. This splits up the story and makes it extremely hard to follow. Finally, the film lacks blood and on screen kills. Sure, we get a few bites here and there with fake blood but nothing to make it worth watching. Overall, Jezebeth is a sad attempt at creating a horror movie and fails to do so. The film tries to be different by throwing in gothic imagery and pop-metal but it falls short from being anything entertaining. Ignore this one.
