     The last few years I have been able to watch and review several horror porns and horror porn parodies.  I love horror of all types and over the years I have picked up a bit of a fondness for the sleazy side of cinema.  This has lead me to a whole side of cinema I had no idea existed.  This side of cinema is home to a world of films that are erotic in nature but actually tell stories instead of just a flick with an overarching story with hardcore sex happening in every second of every frame. Not long ago my friends over at Vinegar Syndrome announced that they were releasing the 1978 film SexWorld on blu.  I did a little looking and learned that the film was an actual erotic sci-fi flick.  Now, when I say erotic I mean this is a porn flick that focuses more on story than fucking.  When I found out it was a sci-fi flick I had to see it so I reached out to Vin Syn and they were nice enough to send me a review copy of the blu.

     The film follows a bus full of sexual adventurers as they travel to a sex resort known as Sex World.  Sex World is a resort where your deepest sexual fantasies come to life.  While on the bus we learn all the different reasons everyone is going to the resort.  Some are going because they were told about it by others that went there, others are going looking for clients to photograph and paint, while others are going to find the spice that their relationships are missing.  

     I have seen my fair share of horror porn in my few years of writing.  They typically take horror cliches and toss in sex scenes here and there.  I usually fast forward through these scenes because they have nothing to do with the plot.  However, I was curious how a sci-fi porn flick would turn out.  I knew SexWorld may go against the norm but it followed a pretty linear story line which is something I am not used to when I check out a fuck flick.  The acting in this one is actually pretty solid for a porn.  Typically, when I view a porn the acting is atrocious and is just in place to help the film flow from sex scene to sex scene.  This film is not the case.  The acting really is that good.  Hell, it could be award winning when compared to other fuck films of the time and even today.  The story for this one is fun and it actually interested me.  The basic run down - the film is about a sex resort run by scientists and sex experts who specialize in bringing your fantasies to life.  Now, if you remove the sex scenes or cut it to make it softcore I could see this film taking off among the sci-fi crowd.  Finally, the film, after all, is a porn so they skip on the special effects that one would associate with a sci-fi film but one aspect that really impressed me was the command center.  It reminded me of something from The Planet of the Apes and that really surprised me.  Overall, SexWorld is a surprisingly entertaining film that tells a real sci-fi story instead of just giving the viewer scene after scene of sex.  Check it out because there is a softcore version available for those that find the human body disgusting.
