I have no idea why I watch this movie every Halloween.  It's terrible.  The best actor in the movie including veteran actor John Carradine is the little boy Ryan Latshaw who plays Sean.  The fx are just cheap and boring even the creature itself sticks out like bad Halloween decoration.  The dialogue is shoddy and yeah sure the whole plot of vengeful spirit going on a murder spree is old but I don't care what anyone says any plot ideas can be done a 1000 times...it's whether it's done well?  So again other than novelty reasons I just have no excuse for owning and watching this movie year in and year out.  But it's the first Halloween movie to bring in 2013's Halloween film marathon so let's go with it.

As I said Jack'O is a movie about a vengeful spirit who takes the form of the Pumpkin Man, grabs a scythe, and off he goes to murder young teens, neighborhood folk, and chase after his ancestor's enemy's ancestor.  If that makes sense at all?  The ancestor in question is a young ten year old boy named Sean.  Ryan Latshaw did by far the best as far acting in this movie as I said before I mean some of the performances in this close to a DUD of a film were just atrocious.  Especially Catherine Walsh and Gary Doles who played Vivian another ancestor to the Pumpkinman and Sean's father David Kelly.  John Carradine plays a warlock sort of hooded man making brief appearances throughout the film and was really just kind of there.  Brinke Stevens was in it who I'm sorry she's really only been in some bad movies with the exception of  Slumber Party Massacre when she was killed in like five minutes.  Linnea Quigley last but not least who I love an all but has no real acting ability either, her best performance was in Night of the Demons.  In this she plays the irresponsible babysitter heroine and she plays it just as well as she always does since almost every movie she plays the same character...dumb blonde.
If I could describe this movie in one word it would be cheap.  The effects are really bad but throw out some interesting kills.  I think the toaster death was my favorite hahaha. Pumpkinman goes around murdering people left and right with Vivian and Sean our hero kid trying to put the pieces to the ancestoral puzzle together.  Sean's parents are complete idiots and I'm pretty sure they were meant to be or well the writing is worse than I thought.  Not going into too much detail here but I can say one thing the movie does have a nice body count at over ten.   Body counts aren't always important but when a movie is this bad it better be up there!  See it if you have nothing else to do around Halloween, especially background for a good nap.
