I'm all for movies that deliver the wildest and strangest stories.  I've reviewed movies about killer condoms, living placentas, ghosts of Native Americans that possess the employees of a fried chicken chain, and so many more.  When I saw that RLJE Films was releasing the horror comedy Slaxx on DVD I had to see them.  I quickly reached out to them so I could check out the the killer pants flick.  I was lucky enough to get a copy jut a few days ago and I couldn't wait to see it. Thanks guys for sending it over!
The film follows a a high end clothing store that is preparing an overnight promotion change for the following day when they begin to go missing one by one.  Soon the surviving employees discover that a pair of is possessed by the spirit of a child laborer and is seeking revenge on the company responsible for making them.
Slaxx is not at all what I was expecting.  I knew it was going to be a goofy horror comedy about killer pants but I was not expecting the amount of blood or the political statement.  It was a lot more entertaining that I was expecting and the deaths really sold me on the film.  The acting in this one is really enjoyable.  The cast was having fun with their characters and it shows in the scenes.  They are beautifully written with the story in mind giving the cast a lot to work with.  The story for this one is a fucking wild ride with an unexpected twist that I was not expecting.  A killer pair of pants stalking and killing department store employees is goofy fun that I found myself enjoying a lot more than I thought I would.  It's goofy, bloody, and a pure satire.  It pokes fun at social media influences and has an underlying message about big business taking advantage of child labor in underdeveloped countries.  Finally, the kills are the highlight of the film.  The kills have some gnarly gore and the practical effects make these death scenes even more enjoyable.  I was not expecting this caliber of effects and gore.  Overall, Slaxx is one of the wildest films I had seen in recent memory.  I had a lot of fun with it and can see myself watching it again sometime soon.  I highly recommend this one to cult movie fans.
