Well here we go with another bad sequel to what I consider to be one great forest freak film in Wrong Turn.  I myself own a torch used in the first film as well as a shovel unused from inside the home of three nasties.  Anywho this is part 4 my favorite of the sequels and I'm sorry like the Howling sequels I love rewatching them for they are fun if nothing else.

The Movie:  A good sized group of slasher fodder head out into the snow and mountains to find their cabin they've been to a hundred times but of course they cannot find.  A couple "Wrong Turns" and they find themselves at an old abandoned sanitarium for the criminally insane and this is the place where our three lovable freaks from this franchise are currently residing.  We go through a series of flashbacks trying to recreate the origin of Sawtooth, One Eye, and Three Finger but to me this is very unneeded.   I'm not one of these people who seem to need to have everything explained in a movie.  So things go from bad to worse their equipment and sparkplug wires are stolen and you know people start dying.  The worst of which is a great scene where one of our victims literally gets boiled in oil and eaten alive.  Badass scene that definitely made me cringe a little the first time I watched it.
The Acting:  Eh so-so.  I thought our nasties did a good job but the rest of the cast save Victor Zinck Jr. and Dean Armstrong just didn't work out so well and weren't that believable.  Dean in particular very clearly conveyed his torture during the eaten alive scene.
The Gore/FX:  The fx stemmed from kind of bad like three finger's face and head for example to pretty damn cool like the death of the doctor at the beginning of the film.  This Wrong Turn is definitely the goriest of all of them and that's a big reason why I threw out three Bloody Handprints instead of 2 1/2.  The only reason.  I love my gore.
The Rating:  Like I said 3 for the fact that it had so much gore and creative killings.  From electrocutions to a giant completely ridiculous sized power drill that would have made the Slumber Party Massacre franchise very happy.  So yes I recommend this film if you are in for something fun, gory, and so bad-it's good.
