I never know what I'm going to get in the mail. Sometime's I get some classic horror flicks that are getting restored and re-released. Other times I get new indie horror flicks that were recently completed and are just now hitting circulation. Remainder of the time I get sexploitation and vintage porn from the same companies that restore and remaster classic or forgotten horror flicks from years ago. A few years ago I got in contact with an Austrian distribution company that is known for pumping out some very graphic and extreme horror flicks. They recently sent me a review copy of their new film Kadaverficker: The Movie. The artwork instantly hooked me. Look at it, it is easily one of the best posters have ever seen. I could not wait to check it out but after finally checking it out I wished I would have skipped it.
This documentary follows the band Kadaverficker. The band has been around for several decades and the film follows each member and people associated with the band as the get interviewed about the history of the band. During the interviews there is scenes that features several people, who I assume are the band members, as they are whisked away to different environments where they act out skits.
When I first got the film I was under the impression I was about to watch one hell of a horror flick. As I stated earlier, I thought the film would be fun as hell and the poster was amazing but the film ended up letting me down big time. The acting in this mockumentary is shit. The band is just sitting around in each scene being awkwardly "interviewed" as they casually tell stores about the band that makes no sense. The story for this mockumentary comedy makes no fucking sense. The film consists of interviews that has no focus or direction. Each person tells a story about the band that has nothing to do with the story we just heard from the other person being interviewed. These interviews needed to be planned out and outlined before hand to it would flow like a typical documentary. These interviews are interrupted by several scenes of people acting out skits that make no fucking sense and are crude to say the least. Finally those of you looking for blood and gore will not find it here. Hell, if you are looking for a laugh you won't find that either. Overall, Kadaverflicker: The Movie is a rough watch. It is incoherent and not entertaining. I can not recommend this film!
