Indie films often take themselves way too seriously.  It requires a huge budget to pull off complex films with most of which going towards a team of writers that will write a story and script to pull it off.  My favorite indie flicks are the ones that are simple and completely ridiculous.  These films are filled with humor, crazy stories, and tons of blood.  That is one of the many reasons I really enjoyed the short Leaf Blower Massacre.  The film was simple and fun as fuck.  So when I heard that director Anthony Cooney was working on another short I had to reach out to him and request a screener. I waited patiently and Cooney was nice enough to send me one and for that I thank you!
The film follows a masked man wielding hedge clippers (Cropsy?) as he goes on a murderous rampage killing lawn workers, soccer players, blind women, and beautiful blondes.  However, things don't go well for the raping and killing madman.  After killing the beautiful blonde, her boyfriend arrives and gives the killer a dose of his own hedge clipper medicine.

Shorts have to hit you with something amazing fairly early on in the film to grab the audience's attention and that is exactly what Cooney does.  The film is bloody from start to finish and that is what it takes to make a short worth a damn.  Also, with a film entitled The Dirty Sanchez, you know you are in for a simple but fun film.  The acting in this one is really hard to judge due to the short not really having any close character to character interaction other than a rape scene.  A little more character interaction would have made this movie a little more enjoyable and help make the kills even more effective.  Kills hit harder when you have an emotional connection with the victim.  The story is nothing new but is clever and at times funny.  Cooney knew he could not reinvent the slasher film but added his own brand of humor to create something truly special.   Sadly, I would have loved a little more back story added to the short for the killer.  I wanna know who he is and why he is doing the things he done.  That being said, I can see that being part of a sequel.  Finally, the film has a a huge list of deaths which is impressive for a short.  Some of the kills are great and truly disturbing but the special effects were lacking.  A little more work on the special effects would have made this one one hell of a flick.  Overall, this is truly one shocking short filled with rape, blood, and castration.  I highly recommend it.
