Over the years I have reviewed several horror porn flicks with a majority of them being porn parodies of some classic horror films. Most of these films that I reviewed were from the porn production company Burning Angel and featured Tommy Pistol. Tommy, as most of you may have gathered by this point, is a male porn star who works mostly with Joanna Angel and Burning Angel. However, Tommy Pistol, or Aramis Sartorio, is a name that has also been tossed around in my reviews before especially when I reviewed the strange and obscure fantasy film Frankie in Blunderland. After reviewing that film I met Aramis through Facebook and he told me he had directed the film The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol. I actually owned the film in an Extreme Horror Volume 1 boxset with Wound and El Monstro Del Mar but I had never seen it. He mentioned that he would like for me to review it so I told him I would check it out and give it a review...and I forgot. Recently, I wrote a post about 15 horror porn parodies and when I shared the link with him I remembered that I promised him a review. Here ya go Tommy!
The film follows struggling actor Tommy Pistol (Sartorio) who was recently fired from his job at the local library. When he tells his wife she leaves him. In a rut, he turns on some porn and throws a hot dog in the microwave before putting on the ol' penis pump and have a go at it. However, he falls asleep and has some crazy dreams. The first dream follows him as he responds to an online add for an acting gig. Once there, the viewer quickly can see that this gig is for the starring role on a snuff film but Tommy is so naive that he believes that the killing he is doing is fake and the film has spectacular special effects. However, the filming turns to shit when one of the girls being held captive frees herself and starts exacting revenge on the cast and crew. We then follow Tommy as he sneaks onto a set of a film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. He then kills Arnold, puts on his skin, and then is chased off set by a mob of the crew before he is drowned by an angry Asian woman. Finally, we follow Tommy who is the director on a porn shoot but something goes wrong when the lead actress is bitten by a spider. She becomes ill and soon starts infecting everyone turning them into zombies of a different breed.
When I get ready to watch a film for review I often wonder what kind of film I am going to be getting myself into. However, I was extremely curious what I would be getting myself into with The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol. Was I going to watch another acid trip of a film like Frankie or was it going to go the porn route like most of the film's I have saw starring Tommy? Either way I was curious and I was very surprised by what the finished product was. The acting in this film is no the best. I have seen so many indie horror flicks over the years but this one, sadly, did not have that great of a performance by most of the cast. Pistol was fun and quirky in some scenes while in others he was a little hard to watch. He added a lot humor and spunk to the film. The remainder of the cast was very amateurish but was far from the worst that I have seen. The story for this one was fun and is an anthology of sorts. I was not expecting that at all before I went into it. However, the film splits up into three stories that are nothing special when discussing them in lines of just story. However, it is in which the way the film is delivered that makes it fun and stand out. The film has tons of gore and lots of humor and when laid over the simple story really delivers some fun. Finally, the film has tons of special effects and some very gory on screen kills that any gorehound would love. Some of the kills are very impressive and unique while others are just gory as fuck. Overall, The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol is a good horror flick that is dirty and bloody. The film has some fun kills and some serious laughs. Check this one out!
