My weird movie marathon is almost over.  My last handful of reviews have been some of the weirdest films I've seen in recent years but not all were bad.  After Bigfoot's Bride, Rabid, and The VelociPastor I wanted to keep the weird train rolling so I went with the 2019 Jeff Wedding film Tennessee Gothic starring the always lovely Jackie Kelly.  I've seen a bunch of people proclaiming how much they loved this film which really intrigued me.  My tastes in film usually contradicts the masses but this one seemed like my kind of movie so I reached out to Wedding and was able to grab a copy for review.  Fans of weird, erotic, gothic tales should really look into this one for yourself.
The film follows a farmer and his son pair who find a pretty blonde on the side of the road in rough shape.  They bring them back to their farm and try to patch her up.  She tells them she is on the run from some bad men and does not want to go back to the orphanage she ran away from.  They decide to keep her there and before long they both secretly start sleeping with her.  News of her arrival on their farm spreads across town and soon the preacher arrives to set them straight on the path to Christ.  However, she starts fucking him as well so she can stay and they come to a mutual agreement.  Things go smoothly for awhile but the father and son soon fall ill and the girls real nature is revealed.
I honestly didn't know what to expect when I tossed this one in but I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed this one.  The comedy hit the right spot, the eroticism held your attention, and the story was very compelling.  Wedding made something very special here and indie horror fans will want to check this one out.  The acting in this one is fucking perfect.  William Ryan Watson was absolutely phenomenal as the film's lead.  He absolutely crushes his performance and makes a character that really draws the viewer in.  We also get another amazing performance from Jackie Kelly.  She brings so much sex appeal to the film while delivering a damn near perfect performance.  The supporting cast does a fantastic job as well.  Everyone delivers memorable performances and the characters are unforgettable.  The story for this one really is perfectly summed up by the film's tagline.  We get lots of sex, humor, and some horror.  Fans of sleazy horror and horror comedies will feel right at home with this one.  The pacing is spot on and we get just enough action and humor to make things interesting.  The horror does take the backseat until the last stretch of the film but it works.  Finally, we don't get a lot of blood and gore but there is some blood.  The make-up effects are great and we do get a few scenes with some solid practical effects.  Nothing we haven't seen before but still highly entertaining.  Overall, Tennessee Gothic is a welcomed addition to my collection.  The movie's humor hits it's mark and the story is very inviting.  Check it out now because it is well worth it.
