This is one of the millions of horror films that I had never heard about.  I was watching videos on youtube when you-tuber coolduder mentioned it while showing off some of his favorite horror films.  The cover art peaked my interest and I immediately turned to youtube to watch the trailer.  After that moment I was hooked and had to have it. I went into this not knowing a damn thing about this film except it was an 80's S.O.V.  film.  This S.O.V. (shot on video) film was written and directed by Tim Ritter.  S.O.V. horror fans may remember Ritter from his S.O.V. horror quadrilogy Truth or Dare?

The film follows eccentric Tom Russo(Felt).  Tom is an airplane mechanic who works long hours so his wife can stay at home.  Tom is worried that his attractive wife will seek the love and affection of another man if given the opportunity.  Things are not going that great at work for Tom.  He just received a letter that he will be getting a 40 percent pay cut.  After a stressful day he heads home to rest and spend time with his beautiful wife, Leeza (Lercara).  Leeza invited a family friend over without telling Tom.  Ben (Carbone) is an older gentleman that has recently left his wife and started dating an 18 year old.  Tom has wild ideas that Ben has been sleeping with his wife and makes him leave.  The next day after work, Tom finds his wife's journal on the table and reads a few pages.  He discovers that she has been sleeping around with Ben, the guy with the sweet mullet that cuts his grass, and various repair men.  Tom loves his wife so much that he does not want to punish her for her infidelity, but instead, those that she had slept with.  He sets out slowly killing them one by one behind her back and eventually forces her to go stay with her mother.  He tells her that he had to take a second job to get the bills caught up.  Here the story turns.  Leeza is actually writing erotic romance novels in her spare time and the journal he read was her rough drafts.  After selling her stories she returns home to tell her husband she had made some money.  She arrives at the wrong time.  Those that Tom had killed are returning from their shallow graves.  They can not rest until Tom is dead but they decide that in essence it is Leeza's fault they are dead and plea with Tom to kill her.  Tom agrees and at the last minute slits his throat with a hacksaw.
This is probably the best S.O.V. movie I have ever seen.  Camp Motion Pictures did a wonderful job restoring the footage.  All the trailers and clips I saw online were very low quality, however, this DVD looks amazing.  The acting in this film is not as bad as I expected.  The acting is not that great but I was surprised by it.  The actor that portrayed Tom, Asbestos Felt, was brilliant.  I would love to see him in more horror films.  The story is rather clever and worked very well for the budget.  When a horror movie has a low budget and tries to impliment an advanced storyline the film usually fails horribly.  Don't get me wrong, I can think of a few films that has pulled it off.  This movie knew it had a lot riding on it and went straight for the kills and left out the complex storyline.  The film does throw a few twists and then hits you with an ending you would not expect.   Both caught me off guard and I loved every minute of it.  The special effects are hit or miss in this one.  Most of the kills look decent but do reflect their small budget while other kills look ridiculous.  The kills are actually original  and very entertaining.  The kills also have more than enough gore and blood to satisfy even the sickest horror fans.  My biggest complaint on this film is the score.  The music is extremely loud and peircing.  After a few minutes I actually got a headache.  Overall, I highly recommend this film.  Copies of the DVD are rather cheap now on amazon.com because the film is OOP.  Grab it and give it a watch, just remember to turn the volume down when there is no dialogue.
