Zombies and paranormal flicks seem to be a trend right now with no end in sight.  Since Paranormal Activity wowed theaters and The Walking Dead took over television the two have been ingrained in horror with dozens of films being released weekly.  Hell, I just got in from watching The Conjuring 2 and stopped by Wal-Mart where I saw three new zombie flicks sitting on the new release section.  This looks like two trends that wont be ending anytime soon.  One trend that I wish would pick up and take over the video section of our favorite stores is werewolves.  I fucking love werewolf films when they are done right.  A few weeks back I was sent a Facebook page from another reviewer.  He told me I needed to check out this werewolf centered short.  The film looked cool so I reached out to End of the Road and they were kind enough to send a review copy of the film on blu my way.  Thanks guys for letting me check it out.
The film follows a waitress who is making her way to work when a homeless man pulls a knife on her.  Another man intervenes and saves her.  She thanks him and invites him back to the dinner she works out to warm his bones and fill his belly.  Unbeknownst to her, it's a full moon that night and this man is more than he appears.

Werewolf films are always fun because they are a great opportunity to offer up some great gore and an amazing beast.  There has been so many amazing werewolf horror flicks over the years but they have seemed to hit a dry spell the last few.  We need more modern werewolf films like Werewolf Fever, Dog Soldiers, and Ginger Snaps.  End of the Road is a solid little short that wastes no time getting to the gory bit but I would have loved to see it as a feature length film.  The acting in this one is decent.  The whole cast shows a lot of promise in front of the screen and looked great in their roles.  The cast was consistent and no one person stood out over the other.  That is how a horror film should be.  The cast should feed off each other and not have one person over shadow the next.  The story for this one is fast paced and fucking brutal.  The film goes from zero to 120 very, very quickly.  We get some character development and then the the film goes full wolf.  That was great in terms of a short.  No time was wasted and the carnage came quick.  With that being said, the film looks great and would have been one hell of a feature film.  Making it a short only short dicked themselves.  They cut themselves short.  Finally, the film has several on screen kills that are bloody but not that gory.  The film is covered in blood and has some solid practical effects.  The beast, which we only see in small glimpses, looks great even though we never see it's full face.  Overall, End of the Road is a short for horror fans.  The film is brutal and quick which is the way all werewolf films should be.  If you want something brutal then this one is a no brainier.  Check it out!
