When I hit play on LoveDump I knew it wasn't going to be a horror film that I would normally watch for myself. Sam Hel's approach to horror is always grounded and extremely sexual. Art to some and perverse to others but it still totes the thin line between horror and fetishism. Honestly, LoveDump IS a movie I wouldn't go out of my way to watch but as a fan of sexploitation and pushing boundaries I have some serious respect for Hel and the cast of this film. The acting in this is top notch. We get unconventional performances from both Wolvie Ironbear and Apricot Pitts. Both aggressively attack their roles and deliver great performances. Ironbear is front and center in a very demanding and intense performance that can make some viewers uncomfortable if necrophilia is something you find unnerving. She does a fantastic job. Pitts also bares it all in her performance as well. Nothing is held back and she does a fantastic job. The story for this one is Haute Tension meets Amerikan Holokaust. Watching a serial killer explore her inner sexuality with living and dead people is an interesting approach covered in other films but very few go to great lengths to actually show the carnal acts on camera. LoveDump went to the limits of film and definitely pushed boundaries. The film clocks in around 30 minutes and makes great use of the time. However, if it was to go any longer then it would have worn out it's welcome. Just not enough meat on that bone so to speak in terms of story. Finally, if you want gore then you got it. The kills take place off camera but the movie still delivers on the blood, gore, and eroticism. Overall, LoveDump is not going to be for everyone. In fact, a lot of pop horror fans will find this one disgusting but fans of the extreme side of cinema will enjoy the limits that Hel and company is pushing. Check it out.
