Finding this movie is another result of late night movie hunting while on amazon.com.  When I placed my order for Werewolf Fever this was in the section for "people also purchased."  I figured I would youtube the trailer, see it was shit, and just ignore it.  However, after I watched the trailer I was very impressed.  The trailer looked super cheesy, funny, and very well done for the budget it had.  I knew right then I had to order this unknown gem and review it and that was what I did.
The flick starts out with a crowd entering a grocery store during its grand opening.  Once inside the store the crowd is attacked by a horde of vampires.  The movie then picks up with a young couple, Carrie and Sam, as they bicker about picking up the dorky man's best friend, Bones (George).  Bones, who is a dickhead to his friend, often flirts with his girlfriend.  Carrie does not like Bones because of the way he treats Sam, however, Sam looks up to Bones and and is bringing him along with them on their road trip.  Along the way Sam becomes car sick and vomits on the road map.  The group then take a detour to get directions.  Unfortunately, they just happen to visit the town with the vampire grocery store.  While stopping at a convenient store Sam is bitten by a store clerk.  Bones, in a bad ass manner, kills a few vampires and they head off.  Later they run across a survivalist, his wife, and a frat boy.  As they barricade themselves in the frat boy's parent's house the town of vampires hold a meeting in city hall to form a plan of attack.  Sam, who was bitten earlier, turns into a vampire and the group duct taped him to a chair.  After doing so Carrie becomes very upset and Bones tries to comfort her.  Carrie, having mixed emotions, starts to go down on Bones as Sam breaks his duct tape binds and catches her before she can suck it.  After he cries and whines about  how Bones was supposed to be his friend and how she shouldn't be cheating, he opens the door and invites the other vampires in.  A battle ensues and the survivors flee to the grocery store.  While there everyone dies or is bitten and turned except Bones.  Here Bones meets a business man that explains that his corporation is turning small towns into vampires so they can shop their stores or will work in them for little pay.  He then turns into a bigger vampire but bad ass Bones kills him but not before Carrie, who was bitten earlier, bites him.  He kills her and drives off till he can no longer withstand the sun and climbs into the trunk.
I really liked this movie.  They took their low budget horror flick, added some humor, with some great acting and made a very good movie.  I love a good shoestring budget horror flick mixed with humor and a pretty decent story.  The acting is very good which is something you hardly see in a budget this small.  Also, seeing Tom Towles and Nicholas Brendon in a movie together was pretty cool.  Loved Towles in House of 1000 Corpses and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and I grew up watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer like most people my age.  The effects are nothing special just cheap vampire fangs and fake blood smeared on everything.  However, Brendon, after he transformed into the vampire, looked pretty bad ass.  Reminded me of the kid killing priest vampire in Children of the Night which is another great vampire flick.  I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a good laugh and a pretty solid horror flick.
