When I started writing reviews, almost four years ago now, I wanted to review forgotten films.  Not the horror films that everyone knows and loves but rarities among cinema with a majority of my time going towards exploitation flicks.  Sadly, horror has taken most of my time.  I love horror, don't get me wrong, but there is hundreds of blogs and other sites that focus on horror and not exploitation.  That is why I started my trashplotation series of reviews so I could cover exploitation on Horror Society.  Several weeks back director Garo Nigoghossian reached out to me to review his exploitation horror film Dangerous People which starred Playboy model Angelina Leigh.  I couldn't pass up the opportunity and jumped at the chance to check it out.  Thanks Garo for hitting me up and sending a copy my way.
The film follows two men at a bar who notices as attractive blonde sitting alone.  They approach her and strike up a conversation and eventually coax her into going back to their place.  They tell her that they are filmmakers and want her to audition for their little film.  They start acting out little skits on camera and one things leads to another and we find her blowing one of the men but this is no simple blowjob.  She then bites the head of his dick off and his friend knocks her out cold and ties her to the bed.  They then reveal that they are serial killers and look to make her their next victim and record the heinous act.  However, she is no innocent little girl herself.  She, too, is a serial killer and looks to make them both another notch in her bedpost.
Indie film making, much like big budget films, finds itself following trends that can equally be cashed out.  A lot of indie filmmakers try to copy the success that Fred Vogel saw with his August Underground trilogy while others try to capture the drama and gore of the Walking Dead.  Both can easily make a few dollars on Amazon or through distribution.  With that being said, I fucking love when a film gives us something different and unique.  Dangerous People is one of those films.  The acting in this one is fucking fantastic.  The two male leads, Vincent Stalba and Garo Nigoghossian, bring about two great characters.  Both of them are fantastic and really bring the story to life.  The third lead, Angelina Leigh, is a knockout. Her performance is top notch and she shows off that perfect body.  I have seen her in several films before, mostly those of Bill Zebub, and her performances are easily forgettable.  I mean that as no disrespect to her just her characters were flat and not very well written.  Nigoghossian gave her something to work with and she absolutely killed it.  The remainder of the cast is just as good as these three and we get even more entertaining and memorable characters.  The story for this one is amazing.  The story is a period piece set in the 1970s, though it was painfully obvious is was not filmed then, they still did a solid job keeping the look.  The pair of serial killers meeting a hot serial killer at a bar was another fun touch that created some anarchy and then the film goes balls out (pun intended) with the secret gay angle that I did not see coming.  I absolutely loved this story and the way it was executed.  My only complaint is that we met these characters so late in their story.  This film should have been a sequel.  Finally, the has a few death scenes, as well as, several grotesque acts.  Most of the kills were something we have seen before and nothing that stands out but the dick biting scene was almost perfect.  The effects were great and it left me feeling unnerved.  Overall, Dangerous People is a trip back in time.  The film is lethal, calculating, and sexy.  If you watch one movie that I recommend this year let it be this one.  You will not regret it!
