Concept Media is one of the few indie production companies that I really look forward to their new releases.  Concept Media is made up by Ryan Stacy and Shawn Burkett.  The two have made several films over the years with most receiving positive reviews from myself with my favorite film being Watch This and the segment Ladies Night.  That short is a swift kick to the nuts.  Not long ago Concept Media announced two new shorts.  The first being directed by Shawn Burkett and starring Peyton Krebs.  This was an outstanding short with Krebs delivering one hell of a performance.  The second was It's Your Fault directed by Ryan Stacy and was said to be a dramatic thriller.  That one was set to star several Concept Media regulars.  I reached out to Shawn Burkett and he was kind enough to send a copy my way.  Thanks Shawn!
This short follows the cast and crew of Shock of the Century as the get together after the premier.  Sadly, the premier did not go as planned when the crowd in attendance booed the film.  Now, the cast and crew prepare to have a meal to celebrate but due to the poor response, are finding it difficult to stay in good spirits.  Animosity takes over and they begin to bicker where it is revealed that the producer contributed funds in order to have his ex-wife and current wife star in the same film so he can ruin his ex-wife's career.  Soon temperatures come to a boil and arguments take over until the producer finds his wife in the back room balls deep with another man.  He shoots them both and things turn deadly for everyone involved.
Ryan Stacy and I usually don't see eye to eye when it comes to his films.  His first feature, Midsummer Nightmares, was one I could not get behind.  It was a post-Scream slasher that was full of unlikable characters.  The sequel was a vast improvement but Stacy did not really gain my full attention until he released his segment for Watch This.  That segment, Ladies Night, is easily the greatest thing Concept Media has released to date and one I regard as one of the best shorts I have reviewed.  It's Your Fault is nowhere near as good as Ladies Night but it is still one damn good short.  The acting in this one varies from cast member to cast member.  Every cast member brought something different to the film.  Iabou Windimere and Corey Thrush are amazing in their roles and rely deliver some intensity to the film.  They both show why they have been cast for lead roles over and over again.  Joe Kidd delivers a solid performance but his character is one of the weaker ones in the story so he pretty much rides the bench for most of the short.  We then see a sexy and seductive performance from indie horror newcomer Brittany Blanton.  I befriended her on Facebook after it was announced she would be in Don't Fuck in the Woods and her pictures do not do her justice.  She is sultry and delivers the sex appeal.  We also get a small role from Peyton Krebs who, as I mentioned earlier, delivered an impressive performance in the short The Lamb.  She once again shows she is just as talented in front of the camera as she is beautiful.  She does an amazing job in this one but her character was one of the few that is not detrimental to the story and could have easily been left out.  With all that being said, Stacy Freeders is the real star of the show.  She brought her "A" game to the film and delivered some of the best acting I have seen in a no-budget indie flick.  The story for this one flows like a Quentin Tarantino movie.  The short is very dialogue rich and offers up a great deal of screen time to each character in a Tarantino fashion.  Sadly, not all the characters needs as much screen time as the others and some could have been left out completely making the story a little more streamlined.  The story itself runs for a little over 30 minutes but could have been trimmed down to about 15 which would have left more impact on the viewer.  I thoroughly enjoyed the dark turn at the end.  It was unexpected and really brought the film full circle.  Finally, the film does have some bloodshed but i is nothing that gory nor that memorable.  The kills, all are gunshots, are quick and not that enjoyable.  They fit the film perfectly but were not that fun for the horror crowd.  Overall, It's Your Fault is another solid outing from director Ryan Stacy.  The film has a fun story and an amazing cast.  The only major problem I had with the film is the camera work.  At times it is a little shaky and too close to the cast.  Also, the film doesn't follow the 180 rule, or as most people refer to it as the Last Supper rule.  If you are looking for a new no-budget flick to check out that delivers then grab yourself a copy and enjoy!
