Brian Paulin's Bone Sickness is a gorehound's wet dream. This movie never ever gets old no matter how many times I watch it. The effects, the music, everything about this movie just draws me in everytime and never fails to disgust me at some point whether it's the worms or a couple rather nasty blood soaked scenes I won't go into detail on but let's just say Brian is out to test your gag reflex. The acting in the movie is pretty well done, not the best but certainly not the worst by far.
Most especially Paulin himself in this I felt did an excellent job conveying his character Thomas not to mention Rich George as Alex who came across as down right creepy nearing the end of the film.
The movie's storyline revolves around Alex who has a sort of bone disease and the only way his wife Kristen (Darya Zabinski) and friend Thomas can find to cure him is by using pieces of dead bodies from the morgue where Thomas works. This cure starts to work the only problem is it turns poor Alex into a worm spewing zombie of sorts. Pretty soon the dead return from their graves in search of their missing pieces and to wreak havoc on the three friends. That's about all I say about the plot but I for one loved the storyline. I read an imdb review on this film which down right insults Mr. Paulin in regards to his directing and writing and I for one just don't know why reviewers like this even sit down to watch independent films. This movie is the very reason why I love and watch independent movies. And I mean real independents not Hollywood independents like Pulp Fiction. The energy in films like this is unmatched and never will be matched in Hollywood not even close.

The effects in the movie are just off the charts as far as good old school effects go. The gore was by the bucket load and in my opinion very realistic. No cgi blood spatters for convenience sake etc. just an all around onslaught of juicy red insanity. The zombies were awesome in this movie much like the gore effects. I was very much reminded of a favorite opus by the name of Burial Ground as far as the look of these flesh eating creatures went. Old and long dead zombies walking around looking for their parts and in search of revenge. The whole movie was paced well enough to keep my interest from start to finish yet another gripe I've read online which I totally do not agree with. Another frustrating opinion to me is that of which a movie or a show is boring unless it's just showing monsters and gore the whole time with plenty of action. Drama is part of life and film in my opinion. Character
