Smokey intros,  burning purple plasma. Great shots of the dock,  field,  forest,  lake,  field,  field and road, forest and road,  field and forest again.   Fantastic scenery all over this pop-rock song.  Not pop-rocks the candy, either.

Hillbilly!  Great cameo from Brandon. "Piece of shit truck!"  Uncle Randy is a hoot. Hey,  I used to have that same washer/dryer combo.  "You've gotta be fucking kidding me." RIP Uncle Randy.

We get a good shot of the cast sitting and talking,  where the camera circles them. This showcases both good acting and camerawork.  This ain't Studio 605's first rodeo,  folks.

"That little shit is a freak,  like some children of the corn shit."

"I didn't know sucking dick was a style."

Trent is a douche.

"Asshat."

Too bad they made Lauren ride in the back.

Devin the outcast brother and his misfit friend Blake are forced to tag along.

Brittany is a bitch to Lauren. Brittany is a bitch to Chad. Brittany is just a fucking bitch.

"Bitches..."

Hmm,  this music again.  These dudes sound kinda like Against Me!.

Lauren shoots down Chad.  Too bad for them. Brittany shoots down Colin.  You'd think she'd take the d after Trent shot her down in the previous scene.  I thought they said she was a slut.

"... like a drinking game?" "Yeah, this one's called 'Take a shot, pussy!'"

Oh shit,  Nicole overheard the conversation between Trent and Brittany.  Seems she's slutty enough to not care.  Dumb bitch.

Shit hits the fan just past 30 minutes in.  Roasted Brittany for breakfast. I'd eat that.

Nice scream,  Lauren. I'd like to see her scream in more movies.

Blame and mistrust bloom. Good acting and camerawork again.  Car goes boom.

Masked killer in a hoodie is behind the mayhem. Who could it be?

The final chapter plays out very well.

The score under the reveal is excellent. Honestly,  the entire film score by Bobby Cole is quite excellent.

Studio 605 gave us a great slasher.  Its a homage to the those things I grew up on, in a modern setting. Its not a new concept  -  friends go camping,  friends get killed by a masked murderer. The delivery is what makes this stand out.  Its not heavy on guts n gore, but there is some blood and carnage to be enjoyed - and practical fx were used for that. The characters were developed just enough and are all believable.  I wanted to see most of them die.  That must mean they did something right. The film looks slick, its shot well, acting is solid, score is tight, and there's a lot of humor in the dialog.  I really enjoyed this one.  I'm looking forward to its release so I can grab a copy!
