I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  A few days ago I received A Perfect Child of Satan from my friends over at Black Lava Entertainment.  This short is part of the Vomit Gore series from experimental filmmaker Lucifer Valentine.  When I received the film for review I decided it was the perfect time to check out the other Vomit Gore films and review them.  If you have read my reviews for the other films then you would have learned that I was not a fan of the other three movies that I saw prior to this one.  I also learned that APCoS is not the newest film in the series but actually a short supplemental piece that was released after the first three films and the newest film that was released last year.  Thanks Thomas and the Black Lava gang for sending the film my way!
The film follows Sarah (Chainsaw).  Sarah is a prostitute that has became infatuated with a man she met online.  All she can do it think about him and the things she would like to do to him.  When they finally meet she quickly learns that when something seems too good to be true that's because it is.

A few people that have read my previous reviews for the Vomit Gore series came at me with some hostility.  In my reviews I mentioned that I had no desire to see these films.  This is true and I stand by those words.  However, that doesn't mean that I immediately passed judgement on them before seeing them.  I have seen some films in the past that really surprised me by how awesome they were.  The premise just didn't sound that interesting or entertaining to me so people thought I was automatically going to hate it.  I went into it with an open mind and found myself realizing that what I thought was going to happen from the beginning really was happening.  Now, as for A Perfect Child of Satan.  It was an improvement over the other films but still nothing memorable or noteworthy.  The acting in this one is actually good enough to hold the viewer's attention which is more than can be said about the other films.  Chelsea Chainsaw (how very scene kid of her) is able to put on a one man show and still hold the viewer's attention.  That is very rare to see a movie pull that off with just one person.  she was great and I'm glad to see her replace Lavey from the first two films.  The story for this one is very flat and linear but somewhat worked as a short.  The story is not original or profound.  It almost went the distance but the ending was a big let down.  She gets roughed up a bit and then it ends.  What a waste of twenty minutes.  Finally, the film doesn't really have any real on screen kills or practical effects.  We get some talking, a little tough love before she is battered and the film ends.  Where the other's lacked story and was filled with gore this one is story focused and void of kills.  If Valentine could find the happy medium between story and gore we would have one hell of a movie.  Overall, A Perfect Child of Satan is better than Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and ReGOREgitated Sacrifice.  With that being said, the film failed to offer up closure and gore.  For a Vomit Gore entry we don't get the gore portion one would expect.  This one is at least worth one view but don't expect much from it.
