Sometime near Christmas last year the indie film company Slasher Studios had their three shorts available to stream for free.  Curious to see what they were like I watched all three. Those three were Teddy, Popularity Killer, and Blood Brothers.  I was really impressed by Teddy.  It was a great indie horror short that showed a lot of promise by the small company.  I also liked Blood Brothers but Popularity Killer was extremely weak and hard to finish.  I found Slasher Studios on Facebook and liked the page so I could keep up to date with them and then Facebook updated...  After Facebook updated I stopped seeing them show up on my news feed and eventually forgot about them.  Not long ago I saw a few reviews pop up for Don't Go the Reunion and I knew that was the newest flick from Slasher Studios so I had to see it.  I reached out to the SS page and requested a screener for review and they delivered so thank you guys so much!
The film follows a young girl as she returns to her home town for her 10 year class reunion with her new boyfriend.  She recieved a mysterious invitation to an isolated farmhouse where she discovers other members of her "click" from high school has been invited as well.  The group has all went separate ways since high school and most can hardly stand to be in the same room with each other.  Most don't question why they are there but a select few ponder the notion.  Later that night one of the group goes missing and slowly but surely the group is murdered one by one.  Who is killing them?  Was it someone they wronged in the past?
Slasher Studios is a company that I want to see make more films.  Hell, a lot more films. The group behind this company shows they know what they are doing.  Their films may not be that original but they are doing something most cannot and that is deliver a damn entertaining film.  The acting is pretty solid by the entire cast.  They all brought something different to the table making the film feel very diverse.  The story is nothing new, in fact, this is the same story offered in hundreds of different slashers.  How many slashers do you know of where someone was wronged and then those people die?  My point exactly.  However, it may not be something new but it is entertaining which is something a majority of the films with the same story was unable to accomplish.  Finally, the film does have a great deal of on screen kills.  Most of the kills looks great while others were just done all wrong.  More camerawork on the death scenes would have made them way more effective.  Overall, Slasher Studios has crafted an instant classic.  People will be talking about this one for a long time.  I highly recommend it.
